|  Allison Leigh  Always an avid reader, Allison Leigh knew at an early age that she wanted to be a writer, as well. She even penned a Halloween play that her grade-school class performed. Since then, her tastes have changed somewhat, but the writing bug never faded. When she learned that her first novel had been accepted for publication by Silhouette Books, it was the dream of a lifetime. Until that first book hit the bookshelves in her hometown, however, she still had some lingering suspicion that she might awaken. But Stay… did make it to the shelves in 1998 and the dream was a reality—one that has happily continued through many more books. She has been a finalist in the prestigious RITA© Award, Holt Medallion and Golden Quill contests, and her titles regularly appear on bestseller lists. But the true highlights of her day as a writer are when she receives word from a reader that they laughed, cried or lost a night of sleep while reading one of her books. Born in Southern California, Allison has lived in several different cities in four different states. She has been, at one time or another, a cosmetologist, a computer programmer, church secretary, and database administrator. She currently makes her home in Arizona with her family whom she credits with remarkable patience for the hours she spends parked in front of her computer, and more importantly, for blessing her life with the kind of love and happiness that she wants her readers to continue sharing with the characters living in the pages of her books. | ||||

Allison Leigh's A Montana Homecoming (4) has an emotionally charged plot relieved by occasional glimmers of humor and well-defined characters who share a special bond.  Mergers & Matrimony (2006) Mori is 47, Helen is 41, and both are widowed. They each catch the other off guard, both being not what the other is used to and not normally attracted to. Given this merging of Helen's family business with Mori's corporation, their desire for the other is problematic, due to family and cultural expectations. As Helen and Mori work this out, finding their way to each other, you want them to succeed, to have it all. This is a lovely story with a wonderful Japanese influence. Most of the story takes place in Tokyo, and the city and culture is a character itself. All the characters, the plot, the setting, the emotions, all of it is beautifully drawn in words and action, one scene just moving into the next, with no unnecessary action or feeling to be found. Even with a small romance book like this, the author created a well-thought out, romantic and touching story. If you want a hot Japanese hero who is a real modern-day warrior, and if you want a heroine who is gentle yet strong, you will enjoy this story in every way. One More Chance (2006) 0 Series contributed to Men: Made in America 2  26.
